When a tine is thrown away I get asked if it’s completely necessary or can part be re-used. A Replacement tube is one way that you can save money on your next tine purchase. They generally used with a 12mm or 18mm mount but you could have an alternative “holding shank made” so the range that runs from 15.88 o/d tube to 31.75mm o/d tube could in theory be held on a different mounting block.
The standard range is produced to work with Soil Reliever (Toro) Wiedenmann and Verti Drain. Because they are interchangeable you don’t have to buy the same “body” that you had originally.
It’s a good way to alternate between Dillennium Tines and Standard Tines. You don’t have to change them when they wear out, you could use the shank with one type/size of tines for Tees, Fairways etc and then change the Tine for your work on the greens.
Below will not win any photographic competitions but I hope it helps show the shank and give you an idea of how simple the job to exchange would be. The shanks are machined from solid bar and can be made to order.
